Super Nanny Play Activities

When it’s just time for children to play inside, inevitable boredom happens, so it’s up to super nanny to come to the rescue with indoor play activities. We have listed 3 of our favourite Super Nanny play activities for children.

Super Nanny play activity 1 – Make Your Own Twister

What you need:

  1. coloured paper (at least 5 different colors)
  2. tape
  3. scissors

We all know that children have an amazing amount of energy! Cut out four large circles of each colour and stick them to the floor. No need to create a spinner, simply choose Left Hand/Foot and Right Hand/Foot directions for the different colours to get the children all twisted up. Alternatively, place paper in a hat with the different directions on them. It’s a great way to help children get rid of their energy while having lots of fun.

Super Nanny play activity 2 – Dress-Up Time to Music

What you need:

  1. clothes….lots of them!
  2. music

What’s more fun that dressing up? Its particularly good for children 3+ to develop their social and language skills while developing their imagination. You can also music to make it more fun. Like pass the parcel, where the child who has the present when the music stops gets to unwrap a layer, in this activity, it’s about getting dressed. Place the items of clothing in a few piles. Start the music and get the children dancing. When the music stops, the children need to put as many layers of clothes as they can manage before the music starts again. When the music starts, they cannot keep dressing, but must stay in whatever state of dress they are in at the time. At the end, whoever has the most amount of items on their person wins the game. Be sure to take pictures!

Super Nanny play activity 3  – Clean-up Scavenger Hunt

What you need:

  1. paper
  2. markers
  3. old pillow case
  4. treasure item

Ever get tired of asking for things to be put away?! The secret here to this nanny activity is to make tidying things away fun! Simply choose an item to act as the ‘treasure’, such as chocolate coins, or a healthier version – cardboard circles wrapped in tinfoil like silver coins. Find a place to hide the treasure in advance. Look around the house for items you would like to be tidied away e.g. a jumper left in the living room, a doll left in the kitchen and using the pens to create a colourful ‘list’ of items that need to be found in order to get the location of the treasure. Once the children have run around the house collecting all the items, you can share the winning clue to help them find the treasure!
