Experience

Deputy Manager / Curriculum Co-ordinator @ Redwood Montessori
Jan 2021 — Jul 2021

For the past four years I have been a Curriculum Coordinator and Deputy Manager of a leading Montessori school in Abu Dhabi, Redwood Montessori, in which we had children enrolled from 4 months to 4 years old. My responsibilities included supervising our infant room and making sure that all health and safety protocols in the infants classroom were adhered to, including the feeding and sleeping routines of the babies. I also had to make sure that babies were changed and cleaned in the correct manner and that records were kept for parent's information. I was also responsible for the training of the staff and making sure that they understood appropriate childhood development 0 - 1 year olds and to to make sure that the room was appropriately set-up and age appropriate activities were provided to the children.
In addition to the Infant room I was also responsible for overseeing the other classes 1 - 2 year olds, and 2 - 4 year olds again making sure all health and well being protocols were being adhered to as well as the Montessori Curriculum.
I was also responsible for liaising with parents regarding any of their concerns regarding their child's health and safety, the curriculum, and day to day enquiries.
Prior to being the Deputy Manager I taught the 3 - 4 year old class for 3 years at Redwood Montessori and I also operated my own preschool, Country Stables, in our farming district in Harare South Zimbabwe for ten years.
