What We Stand For

The sector has challenges.
We chose a different path.

The infant and perinatal sector continues to face significant gaps. Every Babyem programme is built in direct response to what practitioners told us they needed.
01
The Problem

Outdated approaches.

Too many programmes teach approaches that contradict current evidence. Babyem programmes are shaped by active research and clinical expertise — not legacy assumptions.

Underprepared Practicioners

Practitioners are often underprepared for real-world complexity. Our training goes beyond the textbook — into the situations, pressures, and family dynamics they actually face.

Our Answer

Education That Sustains Careers

Babyem extends learning into professional confidence, clinical judgement, and sustainability — beyond qualification, into a long-term career.

The Story Behind Babyem

Built on a belief that changed everything.

Before founding Babyem, Emma Dewey built her career across two distinct fields. She began in marketing, working on global brands. Seeking more meaningful impact, she retrained and spent a decade in international development and UK children's services. She worked alongside social workers, health visitors, and multidisciplinary care teams — supporting the most vulnerable families through the most critical window of development.

"The most effective practitioners never worked in silos — they understood that infant care, parental wellbeing, family dynamics and environmental pressures are inseparable."

Babyem was built on that belief. It remains at the centre of every programme we create.

Marketing → International Development → UK Children's Services

"The sector needed education that wasn't just evidence-based — but built for the real world. For the families who don't fit the textbook."

Emma's background spans marketing, international development, and UK children's services — a rare combination that shaped Babyem's philosophy from day one.

Today, she leads a faculty of active practitioners: contributors to Cochrane Reviews, NICE Guidelines, and NHS clinical practice.

Our Philosophy

Three principles underpin
every Babyem programme.

These are not marketing values. They are the structural logic behind every module, assessment, and teaching decision we make.

G
Pillar One

Gentle

Responsive, relationship-centred care — supported by evidence and delivered with clinical depth. Gentle practice is not soft practice. It is the most sophisticated kind.

H
Pillar Two

Holistic

Feeding, sleep, development, and mental health are interconnected. Practitioners who understand the whole picture make better decisions — and build trust that lasts.

E
Pillar Three

Evidence-Based

Every programme is shaped by current research and clinical expertise. Our tutors include contributors to Cochrane Reviews, NICE Guidelines, and NHS clinical practice.
